Admission at Masaryk University Medical Faculty

The admission procedure leads to a decision on admission to studies in the degree program and field of study listed in the entrance application. Should the applicant withdraw the application or fail to complete the requirements imposed by the admission procedure (in particular the entrance examinations), all fees associated with the admission procedure are considered non-refundable.
The qualification, skill and qualities need for admission to Masaryk University may vary from program to program. However, the minimum entry requirements for degree study are as follow:
High school certificate:
Every applicant must have successfully completed secondary education (i.e. secondary school, high school, college, etc.) resulting in a school-leaving examination, rewarded with a school-leaving certificate (e.g. A-level certificates, Abitur,). Applicants’ secondary school results and a school-leaving certificate are required for further recognition of their secondary education in the Czech Republic in order to be enrolled. 
English language qualifications:
Prove of sufficient command of English language enabling to follow the course without linguistic difficulties by international recognized English certificate (except native speakers and holders of a prior degree taught in English): 
TOEFL 550 for paper-based, 213 for computer-based, or 79 for Internet-based tests;
Cambridge IELTS written version - 6.5, CAE - B grade, CPE - C grade;
Other internationally recognized certificates;
Entrance Examination requirements:
Applicants’ students are accepted on the basis of a written entrance examination consisting of different tests in the following subjects depending on medical programs applying for.
  • Tests for Master Degree Program of General Medicine and Dentistry: Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics in cases of General Medicine and Dentistry;
  • Tests for Bachelor Degree Program of Physiotherapy Physiotherapy: Chemistry and Biology;
  • Tests for Master Degree Program of Optometry: Eye Pathology; Refraction; Optic Aids; and Contact Lenses, the content of which is based on the previous bachelor study. 
  • Entrance Examination is held every year in Mai or Jun at Medical Faculty in Brno. Some official representatives abroad may organize also entrance test.   Applicants from USA and Canada can be accepted on the basis of MCAT tests results. Each test contains multiple choice questions with five possible answers out of which only one answer is correct.  
  • Curriculum Vitae: a summary of education, relevant job experience, skills etc.
  • Personal Statement:  document outlining the applicant's intellectual history and presenting his/her motivation in applying to the certain program.
  • Recommendation letter:  may also be required to provide the reference from your university teacher.
Tuition fees at Masaryk University Medical Faculty 
Tuition fees for general medicine, dentistry, Physiotherapy and Optometry at Masaryk University Medical Faculty are among the medium medical study tuition fees in Europe and remain fall low compared to those in USA, Canada, and Australia, etc. 
  • Master Degree Program of General Medicine: 249000 CZK ( approximately 9100 €) per academic year;
  • Master Degree Program of Dentistry: 298000 CZK (approximately 10900 €) per academic year;
  • Bachelor Degree Program of Physiotherapy: 195000 CZK (approximately 7150 €) per academic year;
  • Master Degree Program of Optometry: 94500 CZK (approximately 3500 €) per academic year;

  • Veterinary Medicine: 6-year program
  • Dentistry: 5 to 6-year program
  • Pharmacy: 5 to 6-year program
  • Nursing: 3 to 4-year program
